William Campbell Contemporary Art
Jeff Mueller / Harmony Padgett

Ravel: Works by Jeff Mueller and Harmony Padgett explores the threads of thought and process revealed as the artistic vision materializes. Informed by ever-changing relationships in science and nature, Harmony Padgett imbues color fields with expressive lines that coalesce and flow across organic wooden surfaces. Jeff Mueller plucks graffiti from urban structures, monumentalizing the text and visually fusing it with the layers and textures found on the walls where it originally appeared. While Padgett and Mueller work with divergent materials, both artists focus on the intricate relationships between mark and surface. In doing so, each one examines the interaction between physical and visual elements, as they relate to one another and to the whole.
