
Templeton Art Center and TCU announce the 27th Annual Art in the Metroplex
Visual Arts Competition call for entries are currently being mailed out. The entry deadline is Wednesday, July 15, for the September exhibition.
Juror David Pagel is an art critic who writes regularly for the Los Angeles Times. He is an adjunct curator at the Parrish Art Museum in Southampton, NY. Recent exhibitions he has organized include: “Damaged Romanticism: A Mirror of Modern Emotion,” with Terrie Sultan for the Blaffer Gallery at the University of Houston and the Grey Art Gallery at New York University; “Electric Mud” at the Blaffer; and “L.A. Now” at the Las Vegas Art Museum.
Any artist 18 years-of-age or older, living in North Texas (Tarrant, Dallas, Denton, Collin, Hunt, Rockwall, Kaufman, Stephens, Palo Pinto, Erath, Shackelford, Ellis, Johnson, Hood, Parker or Wise County) is eligible to enter.

The reception will be held September 12, 2 – 8 p.m., in conjunction with Gallery Night, at the Moudy Art Gallery on the campus of TCU, at the corner of South University Drive and Cantey Street. Lecture by juror 2:30 p.m. Awards 3:30 p.m.
